Tuition & Payment Schedule

  • Our regular dance season consists of 36 weeks of classes broken up into 9 equal tuition installments (Sept - May). Most months have 4 weeks/lessons, but some months have less because of holidays, and some months have 5 weeks/lessons. We do not charge more for the months with 5 weeks - we do not charge less for the months with fewer weeks. There is NO tuition charge for the month of June even though there are still classes.

  • Students registering mid-month may or may not be able to have classes pro-rated depending on when they start within our 36 week season.  If classes are pro-rated, a credit will appear on your account for the following month's tuition.

  • Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month (Sept - May).

  • We highly recommend that students and families sign up for our automatic payment system.   Those who choose not to do automatic payments will be required to pay two months of tuition at the time of registration.

  • A $20 late fee will be charged to unpaid accounts after the 10th of each month. If payment is still not received by the 1st of the next month, the student will not be allowed in class until payment is made.

  • Payments can be made through our automatic payment system, online, by mail, or in person at the studio. We accepts checks, cash, and credit cards.

  • NO refunds or credits are given on missed classes. However, missed classes may be made up without additional charge and online Zoom options will be available for students if they cannot be physically  present in class.

  • A $20 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

Scholarships & Discounts

  • Need-based scholarships are available! Contact info@nMotionCenter.org for more information.

  • Family and multiple class discounts are available! These discounts apply to regular season classes only. They do not apply for senior solo prep class, summer classes, special workshops/camps, or in combination with alumni discounts or any other discounts.

Work/Study & Demos (Studio Assistants)

Intermediate level students and above are eligible to be classroom assistants (Demos) and will receive a tuition credit 3 times throughout the year. There may also be office hours, cleaning, etc. for parents/responsible teenagers to do to earn credit towards classes. Contact us for more information.

Dress Code

It is important for the instructor to be able to see the line of the body while teaching to insure proper technique. Generally, female students are required to wear a leotard and tights for ballet, Pointe, jazz, and tap classes. Little shorts, a ballet skirt, or jazz/yoga pants can be added as an extra layer. Male students should wear a t-shirt and sweatpants or shorts. Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, Choreography, and Musical Theater students should wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and will not be in the way while moving. Jeans or other street clothing are NOT appropriate and not allowed in class.

Ballet, Pointe, jazz, and tap students are required to have the appropriate shoes. Hip Hop students need light soled, clean tennis shoes.

Long hair MUST be pulled back away from the face. Gum, cell phones, and jewelry are not allowed in class. Water in a closed container only is allowed in the studios.

Online Store

All dancewear and shoes may be purchased through our online store. Get sized at the studio then visit curtaincallforclass.com to place your order. It is easy, convenient, and items can be shipped directly to your home! Use passphrase: NMotion1.

Visitor's Day

Visitors may observe classes on the 1st lesson in the months of November, February and May. Special permission for visits can be granted on request – please check in advance.

Annual Recital

  • The recital fee includes costumes, one pair of tights per student, a number of free tickets per family, recital t-shirt for every student, a digital download of the recital, and covers production costs (theater rental, lighting, etc.).

  • A recital deposit of $115 is due by Nov 30th and must be paid BEFORE costumes will be ordered. For students/families with more than one dance/er, a 2nd installment is due by Feb 15th. The final balance is due the first week in May and must be paid before costumes are released to students to take home.

  • Recital fees are not refundable.

Other Performance Opportunities

  • The Kinetic  Dance Company - An opportunity for dance performance with an emphasis on learning choreography and performance skills. Students attend a separate company class each week and perform at various community events/shows typically once a month. Company members have the opportunity to earn warm-ups and scholarships to local and out-of-state dance conventions. Students must be Child 2  level or above to be eligible to audition for the  Company.

Personal Belongings

The ‘nMotion Dance Center is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Place your name on all dancewear, including shoes. Keep valuables with you or leave them at home.

Cancellation of Classes Due to Bad Weather

As a general rule, we will follow Anoka/Hennipen School District #11 and  the Spring Lake Park School District in regards to cancelling classes due to bad weather. Refunds are not given for cancelled classes; however, students are always encouraged to make up missed classes. Cancelled classes will be communicated via email, posted on our Facebook page and possibly the occasional text message.  The option to attend an online Zoom class may also be made available on snow days.
